Saul Rodriguez is an undefeated lightweight division fighter who packs a power punch and is nothing short of a sight to see. The baby faced fighter, Saul Rodriguez joined Floyd Mayweather’s “Mayweather Promotions” team last December 2016 and will make his debut on the rooster February 24th 2017 at The Pechanga Casino. Which will also air live on Showtime TV. A proven crowd pleaser and noted as “an exciting boxer who people love to watch” by Floyd Mayweather himself. Rodriguez has a flawless record of 20-0-1 with 15 KO’s and a 71% knockout rate. The 23 year old lightweight prospect also known as “Neno” was born on April 18th 1993 in Riverside, California where he still currently resides. He scored a first round knockout in his professional debute back in September 2011 against William Fisher and has proven himself to be a “power puncher” ever since. Stopping his opponent inside of the distance in 10 of his last 12 bouts and he most recently knocked out Daulis Prescott in May. With a pure passion for fighting, Saul is ready to keep grinding, keep winning and keep knocking out his opponents literally- one by one.
NINA: What inspired you to become a fighter?
SAUL: Actually it was Fernando (“Ferocious”) Vargas VERSUS (Felix) “Tito” Trinidad fight that inspired me to box.
NINA: So when you saw that, it just resonated to you that was something you wanted to do?
SAUL: Yea I like the excitement… I like everything about boxing and then I wanted to box. That was when I was five years old. But my parents didn’t take me until I was 7 ½ … so 2 ½ years later. In between that time I was just wrestling. I liked WWF.
