When Sir Frances Lloyd Webber, John Legend, and Tim Rice stepped up to claim their Emmys for “Jesus Christ Super Star, Live In Concert, the world took notice to history in the making. Not only is this the first time a single show resulted in 3 EGOTS, John Legend, at 39 years old became one the youngest to recieve the entertainment industries coveted Quadruple Crown ( Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony) of lifetime achievements, and became the first African American man to take home the prestigious status only further confirming he fully intends to stand up to his last name.

With Sundays Creative Arts Emmy for producing “Jesus Christ Superstar, Live In Concert”, 10 Grammys, and Oscar for “Glory” in 2015 and a Tony for Co-Producing “Jitney”, don’t be surprised if John Legend doesn’t Double EGOT in record time. The performer is up for an Emmy for his performance of Jesus at the 70th Primetime Emmy Awards Event on Friday September 17, 2018.
