As of Tuesday 3/12/18, rapper “Juelz Santana” turns himself in to the Port Authority Newark Airport Police. He was booked for unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and an unspecified federal warrant he had prior to this incident.
The report states that Juelz was attempting to pass through the airport check point but TSA Security detected a firearm in his luggage. Once Juelz put 2 and 2 together, he decided to make a run for it. It has not yet been confirmed if the firearm actually belonged to him, but judging by his actions I think the answer is pretty obvious.
Rumors were circulating that Juelz was planning to get back to work, but due to possible jail time, it’s safe to assume that his plans has been postponed. I hate writing about these kinds of incidents due to the fact that Juelz Santana and many other artist going through legal issues are all incredible. It’s certainly a lose, lose situation. Hopefully these artist become more accountable and aware of their positions as leaders and mentors of our hip hop generation.
